It has been a big week. We started out the week with Griff deciding that since he was almost 4 months old, he didn't need much more than a 5-minute nap anymore. Needless to say, this had disastrous consequences for Darrell taking care of Griff in the evenings. It was torture for both of them, the incredibly fussy one and the one trying to make it through the fussing. Katie, I commiserate! On Tuesday morning, I found that the County was offering free H1N1 vaccinations, so I phoned my friend Cecile to see if she would like to baby-care share while we each ran down to the County Health Facility to get our vaccinations (we both have babies under 6 months who can't be vaccinated, so the recommendation is for both parents to be vaccinated.) She agreed, so Griff and I headed over to their house. We let the little ones play for awhile before I took off to get my vaccination. I was a little nervous that Griff would be fussy since I hadn't left him with anyone but Darrell yet, but it turns out that Cecile, with her incredibly calming ways, put Griff to sleep on her shoulder while I was gone and little Cameron was snoozing in her swing. Once Cecile left, of course both babies woke up and I ended up carrying one on each shoulder. They seemed to think this was just fine and my arms lasted about 15 minutes. Afterward, I put them back onto the playmats and entertained them with singing and showing them blocks with fun pictures on them. I have to say that Cameron is a super-sweet and calm baby. Her fussing is like Griff's play noises. What a sweetie! On the 22nd Griff turned 4 months old!!! I can't believe it has already been 4 months. We sang him Happy Birthday several times and he seemed to like that. He had a four hour nap on Friday and then we took him for his 4 month check up and vaccinations, He didn't seem to like that a whole lot. But he has broken the 15 pound mark! Cecile and Cameron Tummy time...Cameron showed Griff how it is done! Lounging cuties! Look at Griff trying to figure out how to roll toward that cute girl. Good motivation! Cameron tired after a lot of tummy time. Griff looking like a nap isn't in the future. Checking out Cameron. Hi Cameron! Phhhhhbt! Telling Griff some thing or another. Griff on his 4-month old birthday...so mature with his thumb in his mouth! Daddy fishing for a baby while waiting for Dr. Herman. Waiting for vaccinations...little does he know. He doesn't even like the sweet oral vaccination. Poor little guy!

oh man, bummer about the naps - it will change soon enough though! you're so lucky there are h1n1 vaccinations available - in the meantime here we'll be gargling with saltwater (thanks for that link!).
