Happy Birthday, Pop!
Today is Darrell's first birthday as a father! Griff and I had the pleasure of waking him up with our best rendition of "Happy Birthday, Daddy" bright and early to get his day off to a good start. But it wasn't his first birthday song this year. We began celebrating on the weekend, in particular with friends at the Swift Street Dinner Market, and event with local restaurants, caterers, farmers, vintners, and the Santa Cruz Mtn Brewery at booths, serving yummy dishes. Seating was shared at long tables, providing opportunity to meet and talk with other locals. The food was really good, and it was the best kind of party, with no clean-up! I was surprised that many of Darrell's friends could make it on such short notice...a testimony to how wonderful that guy is! Nina asked the band to sing "Happy Birthday" to Darrell, and they and the several hundred other people at the event were more than happy to oblige. It was a wonderful evening.
On Sunday we went for a visit to see Great grandpa Arn, and on the way home I treated Darrell to dinner at a Burmese restaurant (yup, GPa, we did end up having dinner there). And this evening, we went for a sunset walk with Angie and Steely and then to dinner.
Happy birthday, love. I look forward to many more with you!

Happy Birthday Mr. Steely!!
