Family Resemblance

I was looking though some old photos that I had scanned onto my computer a few years ago and I saw one that really caught my eye. It is a photo from my pop's baby book. Granted, all babies look somewhat alike, but this is pretty darn similar, especially the nose and mouth. And check out the hands. They both have, what look like to me, unusually large baby hands. It is so wild how these things get passed down, some things passed in little bits and combinations of bits from both parents, like eye color, while others seem to be passed down whole, "here is the hand, just pass that along." Speaking of hands, Griff has very distinctive hand movements and positions. Here you can see his flat hand, which he often seems to use when he is about to fall asleep or when he is startled while in light sleep. It will be so interesting to see if he continues to use his hands in the same way as he grows up. One thing he definitely inherited from me is a hyperactive diaphragm. He gets the hiccups at least twice a day and contrary to what they say in the baby book, he is really bothered by them. At least I will be able to teach him all of my tricks for dealing with them!

there is such a resemblance! it's incredible.....by the way, he's not so little that i still can't cuddle and give him kisses...and, he's such the cute little man. plus, one day he'll be older and not want kisses from auntie b. i will then be known as that crazy aunt who tries to cuddle him like a little boy....yucky!
