Weekend Adventures

We had a busy weekend filled with loads of fun! For Griff it started on the rainy Friday morning when he and his sitter went to the Seymour Center to see and touch sharks, sea anemones, and sea stars.
That evening we headed out in the pouring rain to the Museum of Art and History to see their "Glow" exhibit, which included dancers performing with hula hoops equipped with flashing lights, various sculptures and art works that included lights or fire, and a black light art room where there were a variety of art activities that included some element of glowing in them (did you know lentils glow under a black light due to their high phosphorous content?) Griff had a wonderful time, but particularly loved the popcorn. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures from the evening.
On Saturday we went to visit Great Grandpa Arn. Before heading up to his apartment, Griff and Darrell blew off a little steam at the playground across the street.

On Sunday morning, Griff and I headed out to his swim lesson, where he practiced blowing bubbles, kicking, and wiping water off his eyes. He is not too fond of getting his head wet, so we are really working on his comfort level in the water. We spent another hour and a half in the hot tub playing with the other kids and practicing bubbles. A little pruney, we headed home to get ready for our afternoon/evening. After Griff's nap we headed out to our friends' house to have dinner with them, their two kids and another friend and his little one. The kids had a great time and Griff had his first dinner at a "kids table". They were so civilized, sitting and eating, and talking. We were all impressed! And we started the week again today, this morning with Griff snuggled with our sitter, Nic, reading books, playing with his marble track, and playing at a park. Whew!
