Halloween 2010
Happy Halloween! Such a fun holiday to introduce the munchkin to! He has had a great time dressing up as a dragon. And seeing everyone else dressed up. He seems to be getting the idea of dress up and pretending, which is pretty darn fun. We started out the day learning to roar like a dragon, and putting on his dragon hood. We played in the house and the yard for a bit and then I pulled out the one pumpkin we grew this year that the gophers did not eat and we opened it up and scooped it out. Griff loved using his spoon to pull out the seeds and insides. We never got around to carving a face in it; he has been fascinated with the ones we have been seeing around town. Tomorrow morning I will bake it and we can eat some for breakfast and lunch.
Then we got dressed, Griff officially as Puff the Magic Dragon and Darrell as Little Jackie Paper. I was a funky chicken, costume courtesy of our amazing sitter, Nic, who loves Halloween and had a plethora of costumes to go around (Thanks, Nic!). The beak was a little hard on my skin and I put it on my sunglasses, but that caused me to have a downward pointing beak. I guess it just went with the funkiness! Anyhow, we hoofed it to downtown where we met up with Erik, Nina, and Ayla and walked around looking at costumes. We definitely got our fair share of attention, partly for how cute Griff was and partly for how funky my costume was. There were some epic costumes and Griff had a great time walking in the street checking everyone out. Toward the end of our time downtown we met up with friends Bill, Alli, and Savannah who dressed in aviator garb to go with the epic plane Bill made out of Savannah's Radio Flyer. Griff was very excited to take a ride in it; I secretly wished I fit in it.

We had a blast and yes, the funky chicken was definitely a major hit!!
