Happy 1st Birthday, Griffin!

It is hard to believe that last year at this time I was very pregnant and dreading the next few weeks of waiting for our baby to be born. We were surprised on the morning of June 22, 2009, when my water broke at around 6am. We were on our way to having a baby and it would happen that day. I was excited at the prospect of the ending of my pregnancy, but was I ready to take care of a baby? Ready or not, here he was coming! It is also hard to believe how much he has changed over the year. He started out as a dark-haired, non-mobile baby that seemed to take life pretty darn seriously. He has turned into a curly-haired blond, who is almost walking and talking, who enjoys playing by himself and with others, friendly, quick to smile, and is developing a fun sense of humor. Just imagine adults changed that much in a year. (A few things have stayed the same, he still loves strings and tags...) Definitely something to celebrate! And so, here we started our day a year ago, Griff all cramped up in my belly and me trying to distract myself from my contractions while watering the raspberries I had planted a few days before. Born at 8:08 that evening, we were instantly in love! A few minutes old... One hour old... One day old... One week old... One month old... Two months old... Three months old... Four months old... Five months old... Six months old... Seven months old... Eight months old... Nine months old... Ten months old... Eleven months old... One year old!Happy first birthday, Griffin! Our first year with you has been wonderful and we can't wait to see how you continue to grow and bloom and surprise us in your second year! We love you more and more every day!

    Yay Griff! Happy Birthday! and.. Congrats to the parents for getting through the first year!!!! (In Hawaii, they have a HUGE BBQ party to celebrate getting to the one year mark) That first year is SO hard!
