Bear and Bear
"Bear? Bear? Bear?!" That is how our days have begun and ended the past few days. Griff, the child who had no attachment to anything else, except maybe nursing, has decided that he is very attached to not one but two bears. He has to have both of them while we are reading him bedtime stories and getting ready for bed. And when we lay him in his crib, even if he was asleep, he calls "Bear" and wants to snuggle with both of them. He sometimes calls for them in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. He loves to sit them on the glider and rock them and "read" books to them, and he is helping them to learn how to use the potty. It is just so sweet to see him starting to take care of something else, to be a nurturing little person.
Griff had an action-packed day today. After free reign at preschool where there were only 5 kids today and loads of available toys to play with, we went to a local park that features a sailboat climbing structure. We climbed and slid and chased and saw a cat being walked on a leash and an airplane flying over. We headed home where we met Emily, his nanny. I headed off to work while he and Emily had a busy afternoon of snacks, nap, shoveling rocks into a pail, and visiting Blue-the-horse-next-door. Darrell and I came home and we read books with him, had dinner and a nice, long bath. Then he and the bears sat on pappa's lap for a story. And now, he is sleeping with a bear snuggled under each arm.

adorable! and that park looks awesome.
