It is 3:45 in the morning and I am wide awake. I can't sleep. I finished my day yesterday with quite a lot of pain in my low and mid back. Darrell gave me several back rubs, I took an epsom salt bath, and I laid on the recliner, but nothing seems to be relieving it now. I think it is brought on because Bug has shifted downward (this doesn't mean anything for when I will have the baby, it turns out), and the new weight distribution is creating havoc with my back. I have good days and bad days, typically having to do with how much time I spend away from the recliner and if I have recently had a massage from Robin (my new favorite person in pregnant world). Darrell and Felicia and I have been going to the lab the past three mornings and yesterday evening, a friend came and shot some photos of us. A little too much for my back, even with my belly brace. Anyhow, I fell asleep for awhile this evening and woke up promptly at 1:30 with no chance of getting back to sleep. So here I am, trying out our new blog page, after cracking myself up with the photo modification program on my computer...you can see my masterpiece here.
I am trying not to focus on our due date and when I will have the baby. I am trying to stay busy so I don't get disappointed or too antsy with waiting. It turns out that this is a pretty difficult feat. How to stay busy from a recliner? (Yes, for those who don't know, I am sleeping in a recliner these days...it keeps the pressure evenly distributed on my pelvis, keeping it from aching like it was...and I can't wait to sleep in the bed again!) I ener data and read and knit and drink lots of water and watch some programs online. Any other creative suggestions?
Bug has been pretty busy of late. There was a little while when Bug wasn't moving a whole lot, but I think HeShe has gotten used to cramped quarters and is just going for it now. It is fun to watch the Bug roll around in my belly from the outside. And now when Bug has the hiccups several times a day, you can see my belly bounce with each one. Bug also lets me know when I am cramping his/her style, like placing something on my belly that is unwanted. For example, this computer resting on my belly gets a kick if it is not in a position that is comfortable for Bug. It is fun to start to have more interaction with this little person.
I don't think I saw this before -- classic waiting-for-baby activity...I was looking to link to an older belly party post of yours...is there a connection to the old blog??
